It's been quite a morning here at Boogaloo Acres.
The Good News: Those screams I heard coming from outside while Anthony was cutting the grass were NOT the sound of him chopping off his foot with the lawn mower, as I had feared.
The Bad News: They WERE the sound of him getting attacked by a nest of yellow jackets, which then followed him into the house and attacked me also.
Good: Neither of us is allergic.
Bad: His phone might be ruined from being in his pocket while he was hosing himself down in an effort to get rid of the stinging bastards.
Good: None of the cats got stung, even though Little briefly made a game of chasing a yellow jacket around the kitchen.
Bad: We're pretty sure at least one of the culprits is still loose somewhere in the house.
Good: In comparison, this makes the ant infestation I was complaining about earlier in the day look like much less of a problem.
Bad: Our day off seems pretty much shot now, as all we feel like doing is rubbing ointment on our wounds and cursing the existence of insects.
Good (?): Once the anthistamines kick in, we'll probably be too stupid to do much of anything anyway.
Bad: Pain, throbbing, swelling, lack of ability to wear shoes, etc.
Thanks, everybody! We are doing much better.

Oh my! loved how you wrote this; sorry it happened. I've learned (living in the country) that benedryl cream works well to relieve the pain of stings. Hope everyone is feeling better now!

Oh my! Glad everyone is okay, but what a horrible & scary incident. Again... glad everyone is okay (save the bites).
