When I signed up for Ali's Summer Essentials Sew-Along, it seemed totally do-able. I had two months to create five garments. Well, here we are, a mere 14 days away from the goal date, and it's become obvious that I'm not going to make it. How can I be sure?
5. I'm losing interest in thinking about summer stuff and my mind is already wandering ahead to fall projects. Who, me, easily bored?
4. I've had a lot of social events on my calendar that have kept me away from the sewing machine, and the rest of the month looks similar. Nice problem to have, but there you go.
3. Even when not at my day job, I've also had other PAYING work that has had to take priority over recreational sewing time. See #4.
2. I still don't even have a pattern for the item I planned to be my fifth garment. Ack.
1. The garment I chose as my third project has 29 (yes, 29) pieces (no, I did NOT realize that fact when I picked it). When I do get a block of time to focus on it, I work hard, but it doesn't seem to make much of a dent in all the steps of this project. I getting tired just thinking about it. This dress better be worth it, or I'm gonna be pissed. Grrr.
Ha ha! I feel you. I'm not gonna make the date either. By August is going to become "through August." I've had work/family obligations and shifting attention, but hey, that's why the sew along is so open-ended!
I would be completely waylaid and probably ultimately dissuaded by a dress with that many pieces! But given your skill, I'm sure you can pull it off beautifully. :)
