The Summer Black-Out Challenge was Sal's brainchild. The world will be a more colorful place this week, as lots of people are participating. No black clothing from Monday, June 7, to Monday, June 14.
Sal further clarifies the rules thusly:
- Black shoes,
accessories, and jewelry are fine.
- Workout/gym duds get
a pass.
- Black can be IN patterns but cannot be the BACKGROUND of a pattern.
As for me, well...two days in and so far, so good!
Day 1. I had a doctor appointment in the middle of the day, so this outfit was pretty casual. The top and pants are both from Target. The necklace I made from seed beads and gemstone chips. The scarf I bought at a thrift store on the way home from the doctor. :)
Day 2. This brown top started life as a dress that I found at a thrift store. I cut off the skirt part of it, which looked stupid on me, and refashioned it into a top. I sewed the skirt from my tried-and-true pattern McCall's 4783. The necklace I made from various shell and crystal beads. You can't see my shoes much here, but they're brown sandals I've had for years. I think they came from Target.
Love 'em both, lady! That printed headscarf is just darling.
