Hi! I'm Stacy J. Estep, your hostess here at Stacyverb.
This blog began in 2008 as a way to chronicle my various projects, to keep in touch with faraway family and friends, and to make new friends as well!
Creativity has always been a big part of my life, and I use this blog to showcase my adventures in sewing, knitting, jewelry-making, and whatever else I might get up to.
I was born in Pennsylvania, and that's where my family is, but because my dad was in the Air Force for 20+ years, I grew up mainly in upstate New York and spent my teen years in Nebraska before returning to Pennsylvania for college. In 1994, to escape the cold and snow, I came to Atlanta intending to spend the winter, but accidentally ended up never leaving. (Whoops!)
I like to shine a spotlight on local treasures and oddities and just generally give you all a peek into the sometimes mundane, often wacky, things that go on around me.
If you spend any amount of time poking around this blog, you'll find plenty of pictures and stories about my husband, Anthony Owsley (known in the early days of Stacyverb as Adverb). We've been together since 1995 and continue to find each other awesome--yay! There are also a lot of cats on this blog, because we are cat magnets.
You'll see many pictures of Fred, too. Who is Fred, you ask? He's my wheelchair. I was born with a brittle bone condition called osteogenesis imperfecta, so getting around in Fred is how I roll. He's seen frequently on this blog, but prefers not to hog the spotlight.
I love hearing from my readers, so please feel free to leave comments or drop me an email! Thanks for reading!
