Yesterday morning, a few hours before Little Kitty was scheduled to go in for her surgery, I got up to go to the bathroom, and when I came back to bed, Little had stolen my place. I curled myself around her and she purred. She rested her chin on my arm and then put her sweet paw in the palm of my hand. I wanted that moment to go on and on and on.
But we all got up. We had to start our day. Anthony and I got ready for work, and dropped Little off at the vet's office. A few hours later, based on some pre-op tests that showed Little has a heart murmur and is anemic, the vet called to say she felt it wasn't safe to do the surgery.
Little's home now, being her usual cute and sassy self. We've decided to go with the treatment option of spoiling her rotten instead of putting her through major procedures that would probably just make her miserable for whatever time she has left (which could still be a while).
Yesterday morning, Anthony made Little this comfy box bed where she could recuperate after her surgery, and even though she ended up not having the surgery, she loves the bed! Breakfast was served there this morning. Just before I snapped this photo, she was gobbling her food and smacking her lips with glee.
Moments like this won't go on and on forever, we know. But for RIGHT NOW, we have them.
