By now, many readers already know that my friend Aimee, who writes rockstarscars, was hit by a car yesterday. She suffered two broken legs, a broken pelvis, head and facial injuries, and had to be life-flighted to the hospital. She underwent six hours of surgery today.
I'm supposed to be doing lots of daily writing for Camp NaNoWriMo, but I just can't concentrate right now. My mind keeps wandering back to Aimee. One of our mutual friends, also feeling bad today, said she felt like we should all be asking ourselves, "What would Aimee do?" And I would add, what would she want us to do?
Well. Aimee would want us to crank up some music and spontaneously choreograph a dance routine to whatever song came on, no matter how embarrassing. She would want us to hug our pets tightly. She'd want us to ogle hot men and flirt with them outrageously. And drink lots of coffee and eat delicious food. Oh, and she would want us to tell butt and/or fart jokes, because she's classy and sophisticated like that.
Aimee does not hold back, and she would not want us to, either. She would want us to throw ourselves wholeheartedly into whatever it is we want to do--whether that be write a book, fight for a cause, or dance like a fool.
Please keep Aimee in your thoughts as she faces a hard battle to recover from this terrible accident. And whatever else you want to do, today or any other day--don't hold back.

Stacy, I do not know Aimee, but from what you wrote, I now have a good idea of what she is like. I do hope she makes a full recovery. Thanks for sharing this.

That's exactly what Aimee would do.

That is spot-on, my sister! She'd kick all our collective asses if she knew we were shedding even one tear about this.
