Every so often I like to take a look at my internet stats to see what's driving traffic to my blog and from where. My latest findings were quite interesting.
By far, and I mean BY FAR, the number one thing people are looking for when they come to Stacyverb is a "summer cocktail." A rambling post from June 2011, which started off being about a failed sewing project and ended with me on my porch drinking tequila, is currently about 600 times more popular than anything else I've ever posted.
(Suddenly my blog is reminding me a lot of college: I went there to be a writer, but along the way ended up being known for my amateur bartending!)
So, congratulations to "summer cocktail" for unseeding what previously had been my most popular search term for many months:
"kitten belly"
While "summer cocktail" is sweeping the nation (nay, the world), folks in eastern Europe specifically are hungry for pictures of a "featherweight cardigan." I can't fault anybody for loving the Featherweight Cardigan--I love it myself--but why are people in the Czech Republic and Poland the ones coming to Stacyverb for it? It's a mystery.
Welcome, former communists!
But perhaps most mysterious of all is the sudden influx of readers from South America looking for "zombie babies." In the past two weeks, this blog has been receiving daily visits from baby zombie seekers in Chile and Brazil. One person even specificially looked for "zombie baby Atlanta."
Always remember, South America, you purposely came looking for this. And now you can't unsee it.
Stacyverb: proud to be the blog of choice for cardigan-wearing zombie hunters who enjoy an occasional refreshing adult beverage!

Thanks, gothbarbie!

That´s hilarious, I´ve never gotten a hang of all that stats parts of my blog (it´s never really interested me), but now that I see what kind of entertaining results one can have, I might just go and see what I can find! :-)

Thank you for this post. It truly made me laugh. Out loud. BTW, I have red hair, I love to drink summer cocktails on a warm day like today, and I belong to a knitting group called, The Zombie Prom Date Knitters. I guess I was meant to find you. ;)

Rich, you're certainly right about that! Doesn't make it any easier for us to figure out how to focus our subject matter, does it?

I'm proud to be a member of the Cardigan/Cocktail army, but I obviously have to work on my zombie hunting skills :-)
