If you're visiting my blog for the first time because of Self-Stitched-September, WELCOME! If you're a regular reader who comes here for sewing/knitting/jewelry content, you'll be seeing plenty of that in the coming weeks. And if you're a regular reader who doesn't come here for sewing/knitting/jewelry content, don't worry, I promise not to make the blog all-clothes-and-accessories-all-the-time this month!
In my mind, September in Atlanta is kind of like its own season. Call it not-quite-fall. The weather might not be as hot as July and August, but daytime temps are still normally well into the 80s (30-ish celsius). The difference is, by this point, I'm OVER it. Tired of sweating while sitting still. Tired of squinting into the humid haze.
As I mentioned last week, I'm trying to make SSS as different from Me-Made-June as possible, even though the weather is pretty similar. Getting dressed at this time of year can be tricky, because I still need to be wearing hot weather clothes, but mentally, I've moved on to a cooler weather frame of mind.
So, September: Sleeves will still be short, but colors will be darker. Necklines will still be open, but now they might show off darker, chunkier jewelry. I'll still be wearing open-toed shoes most days, but my toenails might be painted Copper Penny than Sunkissed Glow. Silk flower in my hair? Maybe, but now it'll be a sunflower instead of a hibiscus. The transition needs to be in the small details at this point, until it's time to break out the tights and sweaters!

You are so right about our special September season! This morning was so delightfully cool that I threw all the windows open and gave the AC a much-needed rest, and now I'm sweltering in the mid-day heat.
I love the fact that you dress so seasonally. I was going to say I might try that in Scotland, but I think their seasons and rainy and cool, and ... rainy and cool.

Wow you get 30 degree celcius weather at the beginning of Fall. If we get 30 degree weather in Summer we think it's hot. Your blouse is pretty. I love the rich colours.
